Global Players Create My Sidebar Tabs for Direct and Easy Access to Customized Information in New Browser

(NYSE: AOL), today announced that industry-leading providers have developed tabs for My Sidebar, one of the key customization features of Netscape® 6, the next-generation browser available today for public download on Netscape Netcenter.
My Sidebar allows users to keep the online functions and information they rely on most in one place, right at their fingertips. Consumers can set up My Sidebar - which remains on the screen as long as the user is online. My Sidebar makes it easier and more convenient for users to access timely, customized information from top sites throughout the world. These companies are providing content offering unmatched convenience features while giving users the flexibility to deeply customize the browser to fit their individual needs. My Sidebar is completely open to any developer and is launching with nearly 500 tabs, most developed by third parties interested in bringing their content straight to consumers.
Key providers making their content available for My Sidebar include CNN, eBay, CNET, NYTIMES.COM, ZDNet, Travelocity.com, MapQuest, KinderView, Backflip, RioPort and Webstakes. International partners include Le Monde interactif, Asahi Shimbun, Weather Eye, Arukikata Travel, Bargain America, Rakuten, Inc., Interactive Investor International, JobTrack Online, lastminute.com, Stocktrade, ConSors Discount-Broker, Direkt Anlage Bank AG, investorworld, Ticket Online, alafolie.com and CYBERWORLD. CNN and eBay are also offering international tabs.
Located on the left side of the Netscape 6 interface, My Sidebar enables users to create a convenient place to keep the Web applications and information they rely on most in one place, giving them the power to customize the Internet. Users will be able to read the latest news, set up custom stock portfolios, check their Buddy List or Calendar, track auctions or listen to music. Additionally, My Sidebar refreshes itself automatically to reflect updated news and information throughout the day making sure that access to the most up to date information is hassle free. The open architecture enables Web developers to easily create My Sidebar tabs and link them from their sites.
