NETSCAPE AND CITIBANK INTRODUCE NETSCAPE PLATINUM CREDIT CARD

Official Netscape MasterCard, with 0% Introductory Interest Rate on Purchases, Offers Unique Benefits for Netscape Card Users

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA and NEW YORK, NY, (January 19, 2000) -- Netscape Communications, a leading Internet company and subsidiary of America Online, Inc. (NYSE: AOL) and Citibank USA, the affinity credit card unit of Citigroup (NYSE: C), today introduced the official Netscape Platinum MasterCard.

The Netscape card was created as part of the broader relationship between Citigroup's e-Citi unit and Netscape Communications. Citigroup has been an anchor tenant in Netscape Netcenter's Personal Finance Center since August 1998.

The low 0% introductory interest rate on purchases, available for the first six months from when the Netscape Platinum MasterCard account is opened, offers consumers shopping convenience and a choice of two card programs -- Netscape Values and Netscape TravelerMilessm. Both programs enable cardmembers to earn points each time they make a purchase on their card and redeem them for a wide variety of catalog items (Values card) or travel rewards (TravelerMiles card).

The Netscape Values card program has a 0% introductory rate and no annual fee. Netscape Values cardmembers can redeem points earned on a wide variety of catalog items including electronics, sports equipment, music, books and apparel. For people on the go, the Netscape TravelerMiles card, which has a $39 annual fee and also has a 0% introductory rate, offers cardmembers the ability to earn TravelerMiles good toward travel on over 140 airlines worldwide. Cardmembers who choose the TravelerMiles program can earn a $100 travel certificate for every 8,000-points they receive. For both card programs, points are earned for every dollar spent on eligible purchases with the card. After the introductory offer expires, both cards will carry an annual percentage rate of U.S. Prime Rate plus 5.9%.

"We are pleased to offer Netscape users the Netscape credit card, featuring unique benefits to help cardholders better manage both their business and personal finances," said Jim Martin, senior vice president and general manager of Netscape. "Netscape cardholders will have the opportunity to discover the wide range of retail offerings and services that are available on Netscape Netcenter and earn valuable reward points each time they make a purchase whether on Netcenter or elsewhere."

"We're happy to provide Netscape cardmembers with the superior level of customer service and benefits that all of our affinity group partners have come to enjoy," said Thomas G. Anderson, President of Citibank USA. "And as a leading provider of online credit card services, Citibank looks forward to establishing relationships with Netscape's loyal customers."
