Netscape and Intraware to Launch Portal Resource for Information Technology Professionals

Netcenter Hosts New IT Knowledge Center Providing Up-to-date Information and Interactive Services Designed for the Enterprise

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. and ORINDA, Calif. (September 29, 1998) - Netscape Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: NSCP) and Intraware, the full-service web-based software management services company, today announced an agreement to offer the industry's most comprehensive portal resource for enterprise information technology (IT) professionals. The new co-branded service, called IT Knowledge Center, will be featured on Netscape's fast-growing Internet portal, Netcenter, and is expected to serve as a one-stop location for up-to-date Internet computing information and services. With this agreement, Netscape and Intraware will offer an online resource designed to meet the needs of IT professionals while heralding a new direction for the emerging portal market towards providing customized business portal services.

The Netscape Netcenter IT Knowledge Center is a premier compilation of information and services designed to help IT professionals research, evaluate, procure and update software. The IT Knowledge Center is expected to go live on the Netcenter Computing and Internet channel located at http://home.netscape.com by the end of October. This announcement is part of Netscape's recently announced Project Turbo, an aggressive campaign to make Netcenter the fastest growing Internet portal.
