(November 27, 1995) -- Netscape Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: NSCP) today introduced Netscape Mail Server, an open client/server messaging system that enables corporate users to exchange information easily across their enterprise networks and the Internet. Netscape Mail Server provides intuitive server management, open standards support, safe administration and extensibility to create a complete and compatible software solution for internal and external electronic mail exchange.
Seamlessly integrated with Netscape Navigator client software to enable mail reading, posting and administration from anywhere on a network, Netscape Mail Server rounds out the Netscape server software family for creating and managing online applications. In addition to the new mail server, Netscape servers include Netscape Commerce Server and Netscape Communications Server for Web-based applications; Netscape News Server for creating and serving threaded discussion groups including Usenet news groups; and Netscape Proxy Server, for increased performance on internal networks. The servers are part of Netscape's open software platform for linking people and information on enterprise networks and the Internet.
