MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (November 9, 1995) - Netscape Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: NSCP) announced today that it has completed its acquisition of Collabra Software, Inc. The acquisition, which was announced on September 21, 1995, extends Netscape's position as a premier open software provider for linking people and information over enterprise networks and the Internet into the burgeoning collaboration and messaging market.
Under the terms of the acquisition agreement, Netscape purchased 100 percent of Collabra for 1.85 million shares of Netscape stock. The acquisition is intended to qualify as a tax-free reorganization and a "pooling of interest" for accounting and financial purposes.
