NETSCAPE TO DISTRIBUTE ENWISEN'S EMPLOYEE INFORMATION SYSTEM (EIS) THROUGH WORLDWIDE SALES CHANNELS

FIRST EIS LEVERAGES THE NETSCAPE ONE PLATFORM TO STREAMLINE HR

NOVATO, Calif. (November 10, 1997) -- Enwisen, a provider of Intranet business applications, and Netscape Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: NSCP) today announced an agreement under which Netscape will distribute Enwisen's Help Yourself! Employee Information System (EIS) software. The EIS leverages the Netscape ONE platform to automate the exchange of information between an organization's human resources department and its employees, reducing administration costs and improving employees' understanding and value of their benefits and policies.

"An EIS enables employers to leverage their Netscape ONE investments to both improve employee relations and impact the bottom line," said Jerry McLaughlin, Enwisen's president and CEO. "Not only does it reduce corporate administration and communication costs, but it also increases employees' access to information - revolutionizing the way management and employees communicate. The Help Yourself! EIS does for employers what ATMs did for banks."

By deploying Enwisen's EIS over its Intranet, an organization enables its employees to compare health plan options and automatically enroll in the plan most appropriate to their needs; calculate life insurance, investment, and savings needs; enroll in or update a 401k plan; and review or change their preferences in a stock purchase plan. Help Yourself! even includes a checklist of considerations for significant life events - like having a baby, marriage, buying a house, or preparing for retirement.

"Netscape immediately recognized the value of Enwisen's Employee Information System for both an organization and its employees - in fact, Netscape initially piloted EIS within its own Human Resources department," said Liz Lent, Netscape's director of human resources information systems. "With EIS, we are able to provide Netscape employees with a comprehensive online resource for information that would not otherwise be easily accessible."

"Organizations spend an enormous amount of time and money communicating with employees, yet many employees remain in the dark about important benefits information such as health-plan options and policies," said Mike Homer, executive vice president for worldwide sales and marketing at Netscape. "Enwisen's EIS, deployed on the Netscape ONE platform, addresses these long-standing management issues."

Netscape ONE refers to Netscape's platform for building, deploying, and managing the next generation of Intranet, Extranet and Internet applications. Netscape ONE empowers developers with a rich set of application services - provided by both Netscape and its partners as JavaBeans that form the building blocks of network applications. JavaBeans are pre-built, self-contained pieces of software code that a developer can drag and drop into a Web page and link together with JavaScript to build applications. These Netscape ONE applications can then be easily deployed by simply publishing the Web page to the Web server. By extending an organization's Intranet to enable around-the-clock, worldwide transactions with business partners, suppliers, and customers, the Netscape ONE platform can cut costs, increase customer satisfaction, and reduce time to market.
