NETSCAPE ANNOUNCES RESELLER AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE DIFFUSION'S INFORMATION DELIVERY SERVER TO NETSCAPE CUSTOMERS

EXTRANET BUSINESS APPLICATION LEVERAGES NETSCAPE ONE TO DELIVER INFORMATION ACROSS A NETWORK IN A WIDE RANGE OF COMMUNICATION FORMATS


MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (October 6, 1997) -- Netscape Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: NCSP) and Diffusion, Inc., a provider of business information delivery solutions, today announced an agreement under which Netscape will resell Diffusion's Information Delivery Server software through Netscape's worldwide sales channels. Diffusion's Information Delivery Server leverages the Netscape ONE platform to easily distribute information across an Intranet or Extranet in a wide range of common business media and formats, including Netscape Netcaster, Web pages, e-mail, fax, pager, printer, or postal mail.

Built around open Internet standards and leveraging the communications services in the Netscape ONE platform, Diffusion's Information Delivery Server provides a Crossware solution for delivering business information to employees, partners, and customers in their preferred format. Crossware applications are a new breed of applications that leverage the Netscape ONE platform to span operating systems, networks and businesses to include customers and partners in business practices.

The Diffusion Information Delivery Server distributes business information from corporate information sources, including desktop applications, Web sites, or business-critical applications, to targeted recipients across the networked enterprise. Information is delivered via the medium - netcasting, e-mail, fax, pager, network printer, postal service - and in the format each recipient finds most useful. Diffusion is an immediately-deployable Extranet application that snaps into existing communications environments to improve information timeliness, effectiveness, and usability across the extended enterprise.

Netscape Diffusion Server is priced on a per-processor basis. The base price for a single processor is $75,000 US. The product is expected to be available through Netscape's worldwide sales channels at the end of October.
