NETSCAPE RECOMMENDS MEGASOFT ONLINE TO PROVIDE WEB-BASED SOFTWARE AND FILE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

PRODUCTS TO INTEROPERATE WITH NETSCAPE CLIENT AND SERVER SOFTWARE

NEW YORK (December 9, 1996) -- MEGASOFT Online, Inc. today announced that Netscape recommends MEGASOFT Web Transporter as a complementary Web-based software and file distribution system to Netscape client and server software. Web Transporter interoperates with Netscape Navigator client software, Netscape SuiteSpot integrated server software and Netscape FastTrack server software.

Developed using open standards based on Netscape ONE open network environment technologies, Web Transporter is currently in use at several large organizations including Lucent Technologies, AT&T, New York Life Insurance Company, Dun & Bradstreet, and the Dow Jones Company. Customers are using Web Transporter in conjunction with Netscape client and server software to rapidly build and deploy custom business applications on intranets and the Internet.

Web Transporter is one of the first Web-based technologies built specifically for use on the Internet and intranets. It provides an open, standards-based system to distribute and automatically install a variety of software applications or data files to workstations linked to a network using Netscape Navigator. Software downloads are automatically installed and do not require users to administer installation procedures. The WebTransporter server database has security features that authenticate users and control access while also providing software version control, confirmation of file delivery and license reporting.

Web Transporter's client and server software operate in tandem with Netscape Navigator, Netscape SuiteSpot and Netscape FastTrack server. Web Transporter software servers are available for both UNIX and Windows NT platforms, with desktop support available for Windows 3.x, Windows 95 and Windows NT platforms. Support for Macintosh and UNIX desktops is scheduled to be available prior to year-end 1996.
