MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. and LONDON (November 19, 1996) -- Netscape Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: NSCP) and Virgin Communications today announced that Virgin will use Netscape Navigator client software for its new consumer-focused Virgin Net dial-up Internet service.
The Virgin Net service, launched today, specializes in customer-friendly Internet access for the consumer. The service is information-rich, and promises to be customer-focused, with 24-hour customer service and technical support. Its mission is to make the Internet easy for everyone to use.
Using the intuitive Netscape Navigator interface, consumers will be able to easily communicate, share and access information from a variety of sources, or just surf the Web. There are currently more than 45 million Netscape Navigator users, making it the world's most popular computer application. Netscape Navigator has also received high ratings for customer satisfaction, with its new 3.0 version receiving the highly esteemed PC Magazine Editor's Choice Award in PC Magazine's October 1996 issue.

The software is initially being distributed through retail outlets such as Virgin Megastores.
