HP BECOMES NETSCAPE WORLDWIDE AUTHORIZED TRAINING PROVIDER

CUSTOMERS AROUND THE WORLD TO BENEFIT FROM EXPERT TRAINING AND SUPPORT

PALO ALTO, Calif. (November 11, 1996) -- Building on their strategic alliance, Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HWP) and Netscape Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:NSCP) today announced that HP has been appointed Netscape worldwide authorized training provider and will offer Netscape Internet Server Administration courses as part of HP's growing Internet training curriculum. These new training courses help Netscape's enterprise customers install, manage and deploy their Intranets.

The Netscape Internet Server Administration courses that will be offered by HP are designed for system administrators who are responsible for installing, supporting and trouble-shooting Netscape Enterprise Server, Proxy Server, News Server and Mail Server software. The courses are scheduled to be delivered by HP's Netscape-authorized instructors starting in December 1996 at HP Education Centers in the United States (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, New York and Washington); Canada (Toronto); the United Kingdom (London and Wokingham); Germany (Bad Homburg and Boeblingen); France (Paris); and Japan (Tokyo).

Initially, HP will offer the Netscape Internet Server Administration courses for UNIX system platforms, with plans to offer them for NT platforms next year, as well as providing additional courses as part of an expanding curriculum.

"Our Internet training curriculum has proved very successful since its introduction earlier this year," said Wulf Rehder, worldwide program manager for Internet education at HP. "We have more than doubled the number of Internet- and intranet-related courses we offer and are delighted to add Netscape's Internet Server Administration courses to the curriculum. These Netscape courses complement our existing offerings and enable us to offer our customers a total education solution for establishing, managing and gaining advantage from Web sites and intranets."

"HP is an established education provider with an impressive, growing Internet education curriculum," said Tina Beach, manager of worldwide partner education at Netscape. "As a result of this worldwide agreement, Netscape's customers around the world will benefit from the curriculum and from HP's global marketing and product presence."
