CBT SYSTEMS, NETSCAPE ANNOUNCE TRAINING SOFTWARE OFFER FOR NETSCAPE ONE EXPERTS AND DEVELOPERS

NEW NETSCAPE ONE EXPERTS PROGRAM QUALIFIES DEVELOPERS BUILDING NETWORK APPLICATIONS BASED ON NETSCAPE ONE PLATFORM

MENLO PARK, Calif. (October 30, 1996) -- CBT Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: CBTSY) and Netscape Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: NSCP) today announced they are working together to offer CBT courseware at reduced prices to participants in the new Netscape ONE Expert program and to Netscape DevEdge developers. The Netscape ONE Expert program is a qualification program that provides developers and programmers with globally recognizable credentials that signify technical proficiency in building network applications for intranets and the Internet, based on Netscape ONE, the open network environment.

CBT Systems plans to provide its four-hour JavaScript Object Model courseware to participants in the Netscape ONE Experts program for $149.95 for a personal-use license. The courseware is regularly priced at $600. Attendees at Netscape's second Internet Developer Conference received a complimentary copy of CBT's four-hour Getting Started with JavaScript self-paced interactive education and training courseware.

"CBT's training courses on JavaScript help make it quick and easy for developers in the new Netscape ONE Expert program to learn the fundamentals of JavaScript," said Mike Homer, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Netscape Communications Corporation. "With CBT Systems' industry-leading quality courseware, Netscape developers new to scripting languages can learn the basics of building intranet applications on the Netscape ONE platform."

"CBT understands the growing need for technology training in creating a new generation of distributed client/server applications," said James J. Buckley, President and Chief Operating Officer at CBT Systems. "Using CBT's JavaScript courseware with the Netscape ONE Expert program will give enterprise developers a head start in creating and implementing network applications across the enterprise." Netscape ONE, the open network environment, is a standards-based platform for creating a new generation of distributed client/server applications for intranets. Netscape ONE unifies Internet standards such as HTTP, HTML, LDAP, and Java with a host of open, cross-platform software and technologies into a single platform for creating rich, distributed applications on the Internet and intranets. Netscape ONE combines new technologies such as the enhanced Java-scripting environment, JavaScript Version 1.1; Java-based Netscape Internet Foundation Classes; and support for a distributed object model based on the Internet Inter-ORB Protocol (IIOP) standard with Netscape's line of Java-based clients, servers and tools.

CBT Systems announced an agreement with Netscape in May 1996 to provide self-paced, interactive education and training software for the JavaScript scripting environment. The educational products, developed and funded by both CBT and Netscape, are offered through both companies' market channels and on the Internet through the Netscape electronic general store.

Netscape ONE Experts can order CBT Systems' JavaScript courseware by calling 800/832-2499. The JavaScript Object Model courseware offer expires April 15, 1997, and is limited to 10 courses per developer.
