POPULAR AOL WEB BRANDS -- NETSCAPE AND COMPUSERVE -- OFFER TRICKS, TREATS AND SPECIAL FEATURES TO MAKE HALLOWEEN A REAL SCREAM
Is Your Boss a Saintly Santa or Sour Scrooge? 'Tis The Season To Share Your Humorous Office Experiences
Feature to Highlight the TNT Original Holiday Movie "Call Me Claus," Starring Whoopi Goldberg and Featuring New Music from Garth Brooks
Mountain View, November 28, 2001 - Netscape Communications is giving people a chance to sound off about their bosses this Holiday season with a "Call Me Claus, Call Me Scrooge" message board feature, offering visitors to Netscape.com a chance to share their most humorous and memorable encounters with their bosses, whether naughty or nice. Whether your boss banished bonuses this year in favor of a fruitcake paperweight, or personally stayed up all night baking cookies for the holiday party, Netscape wants to hear from you.
Posting a story on the Netscape "Call Me Claus or Call Me Scrooge" message board is easy: Just visit the Entertainment channel at Netscape.com (http://www.netscape.com), and click on the message board link to share your own unforgettable encounters with a bitter, bah-humbug boss or a jolly-holly cubicle elf. Winning entries will be judged based on their humorous content and writing style. The "Call Me Claus, Call Me Scrooge" feature on Netscape.com will run through December 20th.
The promotion is inspired by the upcoming Turner Network Television (TNT) Original film "Call Me Claus," starring Academy Award-winning actor Whoopi Goldberg and featuring new music by Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Garth Brooks. "Call Me Claus," which airs on TNT on Sunday, December 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, tells the story of Lucy Cullins (Goldberg), a slick and cynical TV producer who discovers the true meaning of Christmas when the actor she hires to portray Santa turns out to be none other than the actual Saint Nick himself!
Twenty-five winners will be recognized for their tales of workplace cheer and will receive a Garth Brooks CD featuring music composed and performed for the "Call Me Claus" movie. Another 25 winners will be recognized for their descriptions of an office Scrooge, and will receive, in addition to the CD, a lump of coal which they can choose to keep for themselves or donate to the Scrooge that inspired their story. In addition to the message boards, Netscape will feature information about the movie including a photo gallery, multimedia clips, access to the exclusive "Call Me Claus" e-greeting card and a link to the official TNT web site.
