Mountain View, CA, April 23, 2002 - Netscape, CompuServe and Cartoon Network today announced a series of new online features for fans of Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's animated programming for adults featuring animated hits such as: The Brak Show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Harvey Birdman, Attorney-at-Law. The Adult Swim feature area on Netscape and CompuServe includes exclusive video clips from the featured Adult Swim cartoons, background on all the shows and their unique cast of characters, message boards, and access to Adult Swim and Cartoon Network AOL® Instant Messenger (tm) (AIM) Buddy Icons.

To kick off the joint promotion, Netscape, CompuServe and Cartoon Network are featuring the "Brak Sings Your Song" Sweepstakes -- the first in a series of online promotions scheduled to roll out over the next three months. Set somewhere in the suburbs of outer space, The Brak Show follows the formative years of the space pirate Brak and his best friend Zorak. During Brak's adventures, there are invariably a few opportunities for Brak to sing a couple of his catchy tunes. Through May 19th, visitors to Netscape and CompuServe are invited to go online and provide Brak with the necessary ingredients for one of his signature songs. Brak will then create a custom online ditty to premiere on Netscape and CompuServe, based on the information contained in the winning submission.

For Official Rules and to enter the Sweepstakes, visitors should go to: http://adultswim.netscape.com or CompuServe Keyword: Adult Swim and click the "Brak Sings Your Song" Sweepstakes link. Once there, visitors can log into the "Brak Sings Your Song" message board using their AOL, Netscape, CompuServe or AOL Instant Messenger Screen Name and post an entry by providing (1) a person's first name (2) a place and (3) a thing. The randomly selected Grand Prize Winner will receive a customized audio song written and performed by Brak himself. The Sweepstakes runs from now until May 19th.

Adult Swim airs two nights a week. The Saturday evening lineup features action programming and Japanese animé shows such as Cowboy Bebop, Pilot Candidate, Gundam 0083, Yu Yu Hakusho and Outlaw Star, many of which have never been seen before on U.S. television. Sunday evenings are dedicated to comedy with Adult Swim originals such as Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Brak Show and Sealab 2021 as well as acquisitions including Home Movies and Baby Blues.

Adult Swim is targeted toward adults ages 18-34. Almost one-third of Cartoon Network's audience is composed of adults over 18. Since its September 2 launch, Adult Swim has contributed to the network's adult 18-34 rating, posting 67 percent growth in ratings and 84 percent growth in delivery compared to 2000. With the help of Adult Swim, Cartoon Network jumped to #8 from last year's #10 ranking among all ad-supported basic cable networks in total day delivery of adults 18-34.
